Covid-19 updates: Total cases in India cross 6,000-mark with 199 fatalities; Assam reports its first death
The
coronavirus is certainly scary, but despite the constant reporting on total
cases and a climbing death toll, the reality is that the vast majority of
people who come down with COVID-19 survive it. As many as 549 new COVID19
cases were reported in the last 24 hours, including 214 from Gujarat, 143 from
Maharashtra and 30 from Rajasthan.

United States in the last 24 hours reported 1,783 deaths from the coronavirus. 720

man who had returned to his house in Bawana in northwest Delhi after attending
a Tablighi Jamaat conference in Bhopal was allegedly thrashed earlier this week
after some people accused him of spreading COVID-19, police said.
The
total number of infected persons reported in Gujarat was at 165, with 13
deaths. Thus the fatality rate in Gujarat is 7.88%. The fatality rate of
COVID-19 in India as a whole is 2.87%.
